The Merchant gives out rewards in the form of chests. The main rule of thumb to keep in mind is: the more orders you complete, the better will be the chest you receive ⚓
🎁Reward progression
For example, in the image below, you can see that the player has completed 5 orders, which means they will get the smaller chest if they do not complete any more orders before the Merchant sails away.
You can also see that if they complete one more order before time runs out 🕛, they will instead receive the larger chest 🙌How Do I Dig for Bait?
🗑️ Removing orders
In our example image above, you can also see another feature of the Merchant: the trash can. This icon, if you tap it, will remove an order and replace it with a new one.
Keep in mind that every time you remove an order, you also remove one of the order cards hanging underneath the chests.
Remove too many order cards, and you will not be able to complete enough orders to get the best chest offered by the Merchant. Remove 6 orders, and the Merchant will leave ⛵
That’s pretty much everything you need to know about the Merchant, but here’s one last handy tip: you can tap on the Merchant’s chest to see what they contain.
Sometimes, his chests will even have 🗝️Crystal Keys🗝️, which are essential for opening chests you find scattered across the islands. What's more, in the Merchant's best chests, you can also sometimes find bait, which is essential if you want to go fishing at Crab Shore.
So, tap on the Merchant’s chests to see their contents, and make strategic decisions on how to use the items you have crafted and collected.
